There's lots of ways to get to Tall Ships Festival. We've gathered here some advice on the best (and greenest) ways to get to us. It's worth noting that Tall Ships Festival is a very popular event, and parking can be difficult, so we would recommend you spend some time planning your journey in advance so you can get to us in a comfortable way. Make sure to leave extra time for your journey as the centre of Gloucester will be extremely busy. We would recommend public transport or active travel options over taking the car, if possible, as that way you won't need to think about parking.

We've partnered with GWR for Tall Ships Festival, and we agree with them that there is no better way to sail into Gloucester than by rail. Trains from Wales, London and around the region arrive at and depart from Gloucester's Station regularly, including a Bristol service every 30 minutes. Check out GWR's dedicate Tall Ships Festival page for more info on booking your train tickets.

From Gloucester Station you can either enjoy a sunny stroll through Gloucester's historic city centre or jump on a dedicated Stagecoach shuttle bus to take you to the festival site. Check out Stagecoach's Shuttle Bus Schedule here.

The bus will drop passengers on Southgate Street close to the G3 entrance gate (see our digital map here). The pick-up/drop off location for train and bus passengers will be Gloucester Transport Hub. Download the timetable here.

Stagecoach are charging for the shuttle:

Single tickets are £2

If you're from Gloucester or have arrived into the Railway Station or Transport Hub, taking a leisurely walk to Gloucester Docks for the Festival is the best way to get there. As you pass through the historic centre, you'll notice the city adorned with Tall Ships flags that will guide you down Southgate Street to our entrance gates. See our Festival Map here to find out which gate to enter in (if you need tickets, Box Offices are on G2 and G3).

The bus fare cap grant has been extended - which means that you can travel on all local services for £2 one way! An affordable, sustainable travel option to arrive into Gloucester that we highly recommend!
